Other points to check
This page only calculates items that can be checked from birth date and ordinary license holding period. Medical, mental-health, cancellation, suspension, disqualification-period and alcohol-interlock restrictions must be checked separately.
Age criteria by license type
Class 1 Large License
A Class 1 Large license requires the applicant to be at least 19 years old and to have held a Class 1 or Class 2 ordinary license for at least one year. For this license type, the birth date alone is not enough; the ordinary license issue date must also be checked.
Class 1 Special License
A Class 1 Special license has the same age and ordinary-license holding requirement as the Class 1 Large license. The applicant must be at least 19 years old and at least one year must have passed after obtaining a Class 1 or Class 2 ordinary license.
Class 1 Ordinary License
A Class 1 Ordinary license requires the applicant to be at least 18 years old. No prior ordinary-license holding period is required for this license type, although the applicant must still complete the required licensing process.
Class 2 Ordinary License
A Class 2 Ordinary license also requires the applicant to be at least 18 years old. This page calculates whether the entered birth date satisfies that age requirement as of today.
Class 2 Small License
A Class 2 Small license requires the applicant to be at least 18 years old. It does not require one year of ordinary-license holding, unlike the Class 1 Large and Class 1 Special licenses.
Motorized Bicycle License
A Motorized Bicycle license requires the applicant to be at least 16 years old. Even when the age requirement is met, other restrictions such as medical limitations, cancellation, suspension, or disqualification periods may still need to be checked separately.
